Lyndsey holds a BA degree in International Relations and a MA degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution. She spent 13 seasons as a wildland firefighter for the province of British Columbia. Lyndsey founded and ran a non-profit organization in Nicaragua where she worked for 8 years implementing appropriate technology to rural Nicaraguans.
As an avid event planner and fundraiser, Lyndsey has hosted and organized events both internationally and locally. She is also a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and consults on holistic health and fitness. Volunteerism has always been a significant part of her life and she has sat on many committees and advisory counsels such as the Ozanam Men’s Recovery House, the local Chamber of Commerce, and the International Network for Education in Emergencies.
Lyndsey became involved with the LHON community when she was diagnosed with the condition in 2018. She took part in a genetic drug trail and has seen significant vision recovery. Because of her vision loss / vision recovery journey, Lyndsey became involved with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) and now works as a coordinator in career and employment.
We’re starting early this year with our alcohol collection for the annual Taste of India fundraising event! Last year’s event was a huge success, thanks to the incredible support from our members, and we’re aiming to make this year even better.
Our goal is to collect 100 bottles of wine and other alcohol. Please bring your donations to our lunch meetings and give them to Jane Tench, who is collecting on behalf of the club. If you’d prefer, cash donations are also welcome, and we’ll use them to purchase bottles for the fundraiser.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping us kick off the preparations for another amazing Taste of India event!
CALLING FOR GUEST SPEAKERS
We are looking for speakers for our upcoming Rotary meetings! If you know of an individual, organization, or company that would be interested in speaking to our club, we’d love to hear your suggestions.
Our meetings are a great opportunity to learn, connect, and be inspired by people making a difference in our community and beyond. If you have ideas or contacts for potential speakers, please let us know!
Thank you for helping us bring engaging and meaningful discussions to our Rotary meetings.
